A water filter for every family in Haiti...

On January 12th, 2010 a large earthquake struck the country of Haiti in the Caribbean. WPI arrived on the ground about two weeks after the disaster and began pulling as many resources as possible together to help bring clean water to the destroyed nation.

WPI is now partnering with an organization call "Filter Pure," which has been in operation in the Dominican Republic for over four years to get ceramic water filters to the people of Haiti. Filter Pure is a non-profit organization that has distributed over 17,000 filters in the Dominican Republic and we are now working together to establish a ceramic filter factory in Haiti.

This filter factory will allow us the ability to produce filters locally and get them out much faster than we are capable of now. We are currently importing the filters from the Dominican Republic which is costly and a much slower process. Support to continue production here in Port au Prince is currently our greatest need for Haiti. The factory here on the ground has already be funded and should be operational by the beginning middle of May. This will allow us to send out 2,000 filters per month here in Port au Prince which in turn will provide 16,000 people with clean water every month!

Our ceramic water filter is guaranteed for 5 years by the factory to filter water to 99.999 percent pure, and if taken care of will provide this production for many years after!

With your help we have already raised over $25,000 for the relief effort in Haiti and provided 10,000 people with clean water for the next 5 years! Thanks so much for your great support and remember to tell everyone that you know of this great opportunity to change the life of a person in Haiti.
